Chelsea close to winning battle with Liverpool and Man United for highly-rated Sheffield Wednesday left back, 17
Yisa Alao is very close to reaching agreement to join Chelsea from Sheffield Wednesday in a £600,000 deal that could rise to £6million with performance related add-ons.
As Daily Mail Sport reported, the left-back had interest from Manchester United and Liverpool , who both made offers to Wednesday for the teenager who has yet to sign a professional contract.
He made his full debut for Wednesday earlier this month, in their FA Cup clash with Brentford and then made his first league start against Portsmouth last Saturday.
United had offered around £400,000 with substantial add-ons and were considered favourites but, as we reported, Chelsea were willing to offer more to crisis club Wednesday, who are staring down the barrel of relegation from the Championship.

Alao will become new manager Liam Rosenior's first signing. In his first press conference since joining from Strasbourg the 41-year-old emphasised the importance of giving youth a chance, referencing Sir Alex Ferguson's bravery in playing the Class of 92 at Manchester United.
'There is potential for that here,' said Rosenior. 'There is potential. It's not reality. There is potential for that. Speak about Moises Caicedo or Enzo Fernandez or Cole Palmer or Reece James – world-class players and still very, very young. That is the ultimate ambition for this club – to create that again.
‘I’m not trying to say I’m going to deliver that and it will definitely happen. But I will not limit the ambition of the club. I’ve shown at Strasbourg, I can work with young players, I can improve them and win games at the same time. There is no reason why I can't do that here, either.’
Wednesday entered administration last October. They were deducted 12 points then and a further six in December for financial breaches.
They have won just one league game all season and sit on -7 points, 36 from safety.
