Patrick Dorgu may never score a better goal in a Manchester United kit after the Danish international left-back broke the deadlock against Newcastle at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old, who has often come under fire since arriving from Lecce in the winter transfer window last season, has gone from strength to strength this season in a bid to nail down his role under Ruben Amorim.

With the Red Devils locked in a nil-nil affair against the Magpies, the Copenhagen-born defender slammed home a brilliant volley to beat Aaron Ramsdale in the 24th minute.

It was his first-ever Premier League goal, and just the sixth of his career since breaking into senior football back in 2022-23.

Last time out for United, Dorgu also registered an assist during United's recent 2-1 loss at Aston Villa , meaning he now has also banked back-to-back goal contributions in the league for the first time.
