Laura Woods breaks silence after collapsing live on ITV and shares health update

Laura Woods has shared a message to fans stressing she is okay via her Instagram account after collapsing on live television on Monday night.

The popular broadcaster, 38, was covering the England Lionesses friendly against Ghana when she appeared to faint live on air. She was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before ITV hastily cut to adverts.

Katie Shanahan stood in for Woods and said she was "doing okay" at half-time of the game, which England won 2-0, while Woods' fiance, Adam Collard , also posted on X reassuring fans that she was doing well.

And she took to social media to stress that she was okay and to apologise for worrying everybody.

In an update shared via her Instagram story, Woods wrote: "Gosh that was a bit weird . Sorry to worry everyone, im ok, the wonderful paramedic at Saints have said its probably a virus, just need a bit of rest & rehydration.

"I'm really embarrassed that happened on tv, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wrighty & Neets for catching me. And sorry again x".

ITV shared an image of post on their X account along with the message: "Wishing you a speedy recovery, @laura_woodsy."

Woods' post followed one shared earlier in the evening by Collard, who posted after well-wishers took to social media to wish the TNT Sports host well. He said in a further update : "Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages."

Fans were quick to send their best to Woods after the harrowing scenes were broadcast just before kick-off at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium.

One wrote: "Really hope Laura Woods is okay. Fair play to Ian Wright and Anita Asante for catching her. Fair play to the stand-in presenter who stepped in, some effort that."
