N’Golo Kante is available on loan in the January transfer window with Chelsea consider signing a new midfielder this month.
The 34-year-old, who won six major trophies with Chelsea including the Premier League, Champions League and Europa League , is currently in his third season with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are in the market to sign a new central midfielder this month and talks have been held with Juventus over a deal for Douglas Luiz, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest but has started just five Premier League games this season .
According to The Telegraph , Chelsea are looking to sign a midfielder who already has Premier League experience and are ‘discussing a variety of options’.
The report adds that Kante, who spent seven seasons at Chelsea, is available on loan for the remainder of the season as he attempts to make Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup this summer.

Speaking earlier this week, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that Fenerbahce were closing in on a deal for Kante as they attempt to fight off interest from multiple Premier League teams.
‘Fenerbahce are pushing and pushing to try to get the N’Golo Kante deal done with Al-Ittihad,’ Romano said on his YouTube channel.
‘The agreement with the player is almost done, just fixing some details.
‘Fenerbahce are insisting. Why? Because they know some Premier League clubs over the weekend called the agents of N’Golo Kante. Fenerbahce are aware of English clubs trying to understand if there is some space, some way, to enter into the Kante deal.
‘And so, Fenerbahce remain convinced that the player wants to join them, that the player wants to get this opportunity to move to Turkey and to go to Fenerbahce. So they are insisting, they’re pushing. The agreement with the player, again, is at the final stages.
‘Club-to-club, they are waiting to unlock the deal with Al-Ittihad, but the deal is on for Kante to Fenerbahce.’
