Elliot Anderson: Man United’s top target threatened by Chelsea
Manchester United are very keen to add a midfielder to their squad.
There have been rumours for months now that United are keen to bolster their midfield, and they have been linked with moves for Ruben Neves and Wilfred Ndidi this month.
What’s more, the announcement that Casemiro will leave in the summer will only heighten the club’s need for a top-class defensive midfielder. In addition, Bruno Fernandes ‘ future is still up in the air.
The Red Devils are likely to spend big in the summer in this department and have been linked with moves for Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Elliot Anderson .
The England international has been one of the Premier League’s best midfield operators this season and is attracting interest from a multitude of sides.
Bayern Munich and Manchester City have also been mentioned as potential rivals to United for the player’s signature.
According to Fichajes.com , Chelsea are also keen on adding the player to their squad in the summer.
The Spanish outlet reports that, “Chelsea is also considering making a serious push to secure” the signing of Anderson.
They see him as someone “who is causing a sensation with his outstanding performances for Forest, so those at Stamford Bridge could potentially thwart the plans of the Red Devils.”
The report goes on to state that “this young midfielder is already showcasing his exceptional quality with his ball control, making a significant impact in midfield. Therefore, he could be one of the key figures in the upcoming summer transfer window, as the Premier League giants are eager to sign him.”
Reports have suggested that Forest would demand £100 million for his signature, but it is believed by clubs that a summer transfer fee would be agreed at a significantly lower price .
United will hope to finish higher in the league than the Blues and be able to offer Champions League football to strengthen their hand in negotiations for the talented midfield star this summer.
