Harry Kane makes decision on Bayern Munich future as 'talks opened'
England captain has cemented his status as Europe’s best striker since leaving Tottenham
Bayern Munich have opened talks with Harry Kane regarding a contract extension, a club executive has revealed.
The former Tottenham striker and England captain Kane has been in the form of his life this season , with 34 goals and four assists in just 30 appearances across all competitions, and is set to be rewarded with a new deal.
Kane’s present deal, reportedly worth around €480,000 (£416,100) per week, runs until June 2027.
But according to a report from Sky Germany, Bayern are prepared to offer the 32-year-old a new deal which could run until either 2028 or 2029.
It adds that the striker is open to extending his stay with the club, and has not considered a transfer elsewhere despite reported interest from Barcelona and former club Tottenham .

Bayern’s director of sport Max Eberl confirmed to Sky Germany that negotiations were underway, saying: “We are in talks with Harry.”
With Kane leading the line, Bayern have been beaten only twice this season: away to Arsenal in the Champions League and at home to Augsburg in the Bundesliga .
That leaves Die Roten eight points clear atop the Bundesliga with 13 matches left to play, with the advantage down in no small part to Kane’s heroics.
He is leading the charge for the European Golden Boot, too, tied with Kylian Mbappe atop the standings with 21 league goals, though Erling Haaland is close behind having scored 20.
Kane has made no secret of his affection for Munich, where he won his first silverware mere months after calling time on a trophyless 19-year association with Tottenham.
Speaking in November, he said: “The move to Bayern was one of the best decisions of my life.”
