Man City emerge as a contender to sign wantaway Real Madrid defensive star
In a shocking report brought to light by El Nacional , Real Madrid’s star summer signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, is unhappy at the club and is even considering a future away from the Spanish capital just over seven months into his stint at the club.
The defender arrived from Liverpool in the summer just ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, with Real Madrid paying the Merseyside club €10 million to fast-track his arrival by a few months.
Florentino Perez and Co., after all, saw the player to be the long-term solution the team needed at right-back with Dani Carvajal not getting any younger.
Despite arriving with much hype and as possibly the best player in the world in his position, Alexander-Arnold has struggled to adapt to life in Madrid and has missed a significant chunk of the season through physical setbacks .

He has missed over half of Real Madrid’s games this season through regular injuries. Even on the nights that he has come on and played, he has looked far from the player Real Madrid hoped to have signed in the summer.
The Spanish outlet also adds that Real Madrid are not satisfied with the Alexander-Arnold experiment and that they are already looking for a new right-back. Trent, for his part, is also unhappy and ready for a change in scenery.
The player is reportedly open to leaving for the Premier League should the option arise, especially given his known track record there.
He is reportedly already in talks with clubs to secure a return to England, with Manchester City shockingly emerging as an option to sign him at the request of Pep Guardiola.
Given that the news is from a Catalan outlet, however, it must be taken with a grain of salt.
