Man City players to refund fans for embarassing Bodo/Glimt loss

Manchester City players have agreed to refund all travelling supporters who attended their humiliating Champions League defeat away to Bodo/Glimt, according to the Daily Mail .

City were beaten 3-1 by the Norwegian champions at Aspmyra Stadion, with the 10-time English top-flight champions shell-shocked in freezing conditions inside the Arctic Circle.

Talisman Erling Braut Haaland described the performance as embarrassing after Pep Guardiola’s side were thoroughly outplayed on the night.

The result came just four days after City were comfortably beaten by Manchester United at Old Trafford, extending a worrying run.

Man City have won only two of their last seven matches in all competitions, losing their way at a pivotal point .

Typically, the Cityzens build steam in the second half of the season, but they are struggling to find any momentum, leaving supporters frustrated.

A total of 374 City fans made the long and arduous journey to northern Norway. Most of them flew to Oslo before connecting to Bodo and standing in sub-zero temperatures to watch a dire display.

Bodo played City off the park for 60 minutes, and just when the Premier League side thought they could fight back following a Rayan Cherki goal, Rodri picked up a red card.

City’s squad have since committed to reimbursing fans for the full cost of their match tickets, totalling £9,357.

A statement was released on behalf of the leadership group of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Rodri and Haaland.

City now turn their focus to Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

They must be desperate to get back to winning ways and will back themselves to secure three points against bottom-of-the-table Wolves.

After that, they lock horns with Galatasaray in the Champions League, as Guardiola’s side look to respond on the pitch after a damaging week.

After spending relentlessly over the past year, Guardiola is running out of time to get his troops back on track.
