Whitwell: Man United to complete two transfers on Thursday with deals fully agreed

Manchester United are expected to finalise deals for both Harry Amass and Toby Collyer today.

The two Reds will depart on loan for the remainder of the campaign, having already spent the first half of 2025/2026 on loan with different clubs.

Amass joined Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday on deadline day in the summer, which allowed him to gain some crucial first-team experience – albeit in a difficult environment for an 18-year-old to acclimatise to.

He made 21 league appearances for the Yorkshire outfit, with all of them coming from the off. Remarkably, he averaged a Fotmob rating of 7.06 for his efforts in the four-month spell.

The full-back returned to Carrington at the start of the month to allow United to assess where he would be the best fit for him until the summer, and Amass is now on the verge of joining Norwich City.

Elsewhere, Collyer also added Championship experience to his CV after making 12 appearances for West Bromwich Albion – though only three were as a starter.

The 22-year-old only featured for a total of 253 minutes under Ryan Mason before he sustained a serious knee injury towards the end of November while in action against Birmingham City.

Collyer subsequently reported back to United to undergo his rehabilitation with his parent club, and he was officially recalled from his spell at the turn of the year.

Now that he’s on the cusp of being match fit and is chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch, he will resume his term with Hull City, who sit fourth-placed in the league.
