10-man Everton shock Man Utd at Old Trafford

Everton produced a remarkable performance to claim a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, despite being reduced to ten men after just 13 minutes.

The early drama came when Idrissa Gueye clashed with teammate Michael Keane in a bizarre incident. Gueye struck Keane in the face, earning a straight red card and leaving Everton facing an uphill battle.

United looked poised to capitalise on the advantage, but the visitors responded superbly. Just 16 minutes later, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall curled a stunning shot from the edge of the box into the top corner, silencing the home crowd.

The hosts gradually tried to assert themselves, with early efforts from Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee causing trouble, but they were brilliantly kept out by Jordan Pickford .

After the break, Ruben Amorim brought on Mason Mount for Noussair Mazraoui in an attempt to break down the organised Everton side. The home team had chances - Fernandes, Mount, and Amad all tested Pickford - but the Everton goalkeeper remained a wall, and the backline stood firm.

However, in the second half, United lacked creativity, and Everton held on to secure a famous win, ending United’s five-match unbeaten run at Old Trafford.

The victory also saw David Moyes 's side leapfrog Liverpool into 11th in the table, level on points with United in 10th.

The result gives Everton momentum as they host Newcastle next, while Manchester United will hope to bounce back in their trip to Crystal Palace.
