Football legend Alan Shearer has shared a cheeky three-word message after his daughter Chloe got engaged to ex-rugby star Micky Young.
Chloe revealed the exciting news on Instagram , posting snaps of Young proposing at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle , captioning it: "Forever YOUNG", with a ring and white heart emoji.
The Match of the Day pundit and Premier League's all-time top scorer couldn't resist commenting: "About time too!!!" alongside a heart eyes emoji.
Young, who played scrum-half for Newcastle Falcons, Leicester Tigers and Bath, retired from professional rugby in 2024 after racking up 201 appearances for Newcastle. He represented both England Saxons and England Sevens, but never got a senior call-up despite training with the squad.
The engagement took place during a charity event supporting both the Alan Shearer Foundation and the my name 5 Doddie foundation, which funds Motor Neuron disease research.
Shearer had previously backed Young's testimonial year at Newcastle, appearing as a guest at a football dinner.

Brother Will also celebrated the engagement by sharing the post with several heart emojis. The update comes a year after Hollie herself said yes to her long-term boyfriend , Joe Marchant, last November.
Like Young, Marchant is also a rugby ace. The 29 year old currently plays for the French team Stade Francais, having previously donned the Harlequins jersey.
He's earned 28 caps for England, but due to his current stint in France, he's not eligible to represent England.
