Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber remain out of the Arsenal squad as they continue their rehabilitation from injury. The Gunners take on AC Milan for their first match of the pre-season tour in Asia.
Both Timber and Gabriel have travelled out to Asia in the hope of getting some game time but so far have been left out as a precaution. Gabriel has been pictured in training and Mikel Arteta confirmed he had played a part in the behind-closed-doors friendly at the training ground before they departed England.
“We haven't seen them for six weeks and they come back older, more mature,” he said. “Gabby with his new contract he showed his commitment to the club and to grow in his role.
“I am very pleased. He played 45 minutes against Watford [on Saturday].
“He looks in good shape. We have missed a lot of players at the end of the season but they all look to be in the right direction and contributing on the tour.”
Despite being “in good shape” it appears he is not quite been given the green light for the clash in Singapore. Timber underwent ankle surgery toward the end of the season he is yet to fully integrate into full training and is working to get back as soon as possible.
Both Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera are expected to complete their moves to Arsenal before joining the group. They could play some part in the remaining games of the tour and back in London ahead of the Premier League season.
