Arsenal record safe after Liverpool lose at Manchester City
Liverpool reached a new low at the weekend after losing 3-0 at Manchester City in the Premier League .
Arne Slot’s side were well beaten at the Etihad, as goals from Erling Haaland , Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku did the damage. Defeat leaves Liverpool eighth in the Premier League table, and eight points adrift of leaders Arsenal .
The champions have struggled to find last season’s form in 2025/26, while their defeat at Manchester City ended a long-time streak.
Liverpool failed to score for the first time in 45 league games, ending the second-longest run in the league’s history.
Slot’s side had last failed to score when losing 1-0 at home to Nottingham Forest in August 2024.
The end of their run of consecutive games with a goal ensures Arsenal’s record remains safe, after the Gunners went 55 straight games with a goal between 2001 and 2002.
