Assan Ouedraogo on United’s radar ahead of summer swoop

Manchester United’s hunt for a midfielder might take them to the Bundesliga if the latest reports are to be believed.

Casemiro’s legs do not work like they used to, and with his contract up in the summer, rumours are rife that he could be moved on .

Ruben Amorim has publicly criticised Manuel Ugarte , while Kobbie Mainoo is struggling to impress . It is clear that the Red Devils need reinforcements in the middle of the park.

RB Leipzig’s Assan Ouedraogo has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and as reported by Sky Germany , INEOS are eyeing a summer move for the German.

Only 19, the Leipzig No.20 can play all across the midfield, even out wide and up top if needed, which shows his immense versatility. That makes him a great fit for Ruben Amorim’s style.

This will be his first full season at the Red Bull Arena following an injury-hit campaign last time out, and the Germany international is showing why he is so highly-rated.

In eight starts across all competitions, the former Schalke starlet already has three goals and four assists. That amounts for a goal involvement every 80 minutes.

Naturally, his performances have caught the eye of elite clubs all across Europe, with Florian Plettenberg revealing Chelsea are also eyeing the highly-rated German.

“Premier League sides are crazy about Assan Ouedraogo ahead of next summer. Manchester United and Chelsea are already scouting him,” the reporter wrote on X (formerly Twitter ).

“The 19 y/o top central midfielder has three goals and three assists for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, is under contract until 2029 with no release clause. Major ambition: earning a place in the World Cup squad.”

Assan Ouedraogo currently has a market value of €10 million , but he is expected to cost a lot more given his contract situation, his form and the kind of teams eyeing his services.

United should be all over this deal given he fits the mould of an INEOS signing — young and full of potential.
