Slovenia boss Matjaž Kek has confirmed that his nation’s row with Manchester United over Benjamin Sesko is OVER. The striker picked up a knee injury against Tottenham in his most recent appearance before the international break.
That saw Sesko ruled out of Slovenia’s most recent camp. Heading into the break, boss Kek sent a message to United that he had yet to receive any information about his issue - while he also demanded ‘respect’. However, he has now clarified the situation and claimed that Red Devils chiefs quickly got in touch to establish the facts.
He said: “Completely expected from the English media. But I emphasise once again: the moment communication was established between us and the Manchester United medical team, the problem was solved in five minutes.
“I thank the club for their cooperation. Our medical team checked their documentation. The matter was quickly resolved.
“I wish Benjamin a successful rehabilitation and a speedy return to the field, because everyone who knows him knows that he feels best there.”
Kek’s most recent comments come after his outburst earlier this week. He said: “With all due respect to a great club like Manchester United, we have officially not received anything yet; no papers, no documents.
“We would certainly like to get them. We want our medical team to also take a look at it. Our doctor is an expert in this field. We don’t have just anyone in this position.

“I cannot comment, of course I have certain information and I am also in contact with Beni. I can’t say anything because officially we don’t know anything at all.
“United haven’t contacted anyone from our camp. Of course, I am concerned about the player. The only thing that matters to me is his wellbeing."
He added: “The national team is something very special and I expect maximum respect from everyone.
“Slovenia deserves that, even if on the other side there is a powerhouse like England, and something as extraordinary as the Premier League . After all it has been quite some time since England defeated Slovenia and that in itself says something about us.”
Slovenia are back in action on Saturday evening as they take on Kosovo in their penultimate World Cup qualifier, ahead of a showdown with Sweden. Sesko has scored just twice for United since his big-money switch from German side RB Leipzig.
