Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi prefers to join Arsenal over Manchester United

Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi ahead of the January transfer window.

But it emerges the 23-year-old prefers a move to Arsenal rather than United.

According to the Sunday Mirror , the Manchester club’s bosses have sounded out Adeyemi’s agent, Jorge Mendes, about the chances of signing the forward next summer.

But manager Ruben Amorim is now preparing to turn his attention elsewhere, as the German has made it clear his preferred destination is Arsenal and not United.

The German’s £75 million valuation by Dortmund is also a big issue, as the Red Devils are not willing to pay such a high fee for the player.

Adeyemi has been a key player for the Black and Yellow since joining them from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2022.

He has made 122 appearances across all competitions over the last three and a half seasons, scoring 30 goals and creating 22 assists.

Dortmund want to keep the Germany international at the Signal Iduna Park and are looking to tie him down to a new contract, with his current deal expiring in 2027.

But it seems the 23-year-old is ready to leave the Bundesliga to showcase his skills at a bigger club.

Adeyemi is a quality winger, but United are already well stocked in the forward positions, having signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

It is unlikely they will be spending a huge fee on another forward in January or next summer.

Amorim’s priority is said to be bolstering the midfield, with Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba on their top targets.
