Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha receive big recognitions after stellar displays vs. Bournemouth

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha have been honoured following their valuable contributions in the club’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Bournemouth.
Fernandes and Cunha both got on the score sheet as United were held to a draw by Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Amad and Casemiro’s goals saw United head into the break with a 2-1 advantage. However, Bournemouth came out firing after the restart, with Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier turning the game on its head to give the Cherries the lead for the first time.
But Fernandes struck a stunning free-kick to draw the Red Devils level. Cunha thought he had won it for United when he finished off a brilliant counter-attacking move to make it 4-3.
However, Eli Junior Kroupi came off the bench to have the final say, firing home in the 84th minute to ensure the points were shared.
In addition to his goal, Fernandes also delivered an assist for Casemiro’s goal. Cunha’s effort marked his second for United since joining the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer transfer window.
Fernandes and Cunha’s contributions vs. Bournemouth have earned them spots in the BBC and WhoScored’s Team of the Week respectively.
Fernandes and Ibrahim Sangare (Nottingham Forest) are the only midfielders who feature in Troy Deeney’s BBC Premier League XI of the Week.
On why he selected the United skipper, Deeney wrote, “I’m seeing a lot of talk about the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth being the best game we’ve seen all year. Amateur-hour defending.”
“But quality with the corner for Casemiro’s goal and then that free-kick – you get in team of the week if you spank one of them in the top bin. He deserves that.”
Meanwhile, Cunha leads the line in WhoScored’s team alongside Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool).
Cunha boasts an impressive rating of 8.83.
