Chelsea players have meeting regarding recent struggles against lesser team
Chelsea’s players have reportedly held a meeting regarding the recent struggles they have against the lesser sides.
The latest struggle of course came on Tuesday evening with The Blues failing to beat midtable Serie A side Atalanta in the Champions League. They didn’t only fail to beat the Italian side, they ended up losing the game 2-1 after being ahead in the first half.
And that game came almost a week after Chelsea lost 3-1 to Leeds United away from home and at the time of the defeat, Leeds were in the bottom three in the Premier League!
It’s been clear this season that Chelsea have been able to operate much better against teams they are not expected to win against. They do not like being the underdogs and it appears the pressure of this gets to them when they are.

According to The Daily Mail this week, Chelsea’s players, led by captain Reece James , have been speaking with each other on their struggles against the lesser sides they should be controlling.
So, let’s see what effect if any, this has on our next matches going forward.
Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures are not looking too favourable. Can you even call Everton a ‘lesser’ team at the moment given the top form they have been in? They have won four of their last five games ahead of facing Chelsea at the weekend.
After that, Chelsea face Newcastle United and Aston Villa in the league, two other sides who have found good recent form and will be very tough to beat.
So this will be a stern test for Enzo Maresca and his players coming up, a test that they really do need to pass now with flying colours.
