Chelsea have no intention of allowing goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen to leave on loan during the January transfer window , Mirror Football understands.

The Danish keeper is understood to be considering his options mid-season as he seeks more playing time ahead of next summer's World Cup, with Denmark needing to come through the play-offs to reach the tournament. Jorgensen has featured for just under 360 minutes across four matches in all competitions this term, with Robert Sanchez remaining Enzo Maresca's first-choice keeper.

The 23-year-old might have seen even less action had it not been for Sanchez's dismissal during the Premier League loss to Manchester United on September 20. Chelsea secured Jorgensen's signature from Villarreal last July for approximately £20million, and he has since totalled 28 outings - half of which came during last season's Conference League campaign.

Despite Jorgensen's desire to weigh up his opportunities in January, it's understood the Blues are currently not considering a loan departure for the stopper. Maresca has repeatedly expressed his satisfaction with the club's existing goalkeeping duo of Sanchez and Jorgensen, reports Football London .

Addressing the situation back in March, when Sanchez faced considerable scrutiny, Maresca stated: "I've said many times we are happy with both goalkeepers. But sometimes, you have to be flexible.

"Since we started, the idea wasn't to change the goalkeeper but you have to be flexible; we do this with the game plan, the way we want to attack and defend, but we also have to be flexible with players."

Chelsea's young goalkeeper Mike Penders is currently on loan at sister club Strasbourg. The 20-year-old Belgian has been turning heads during his stint in France, with the Blues planning to reassess his situation upon his return to Cobham next summer.
