City to take positives from Forest win, says Jeglertz

But the Swede has challenged the Blues to continue to develop our game management after a goalless second 45 at the City Ground.

For Jeglertz, he says City will be buoyed by a second straight shutout and reaching the knockout stages.

“There are parts of the game I’m pleased with. We created a couple of great chances and that was good and I’m pleased we kept another clean sheet,” he said.

City reach League Cup quarters with professional Forest win

“That’s very important, so that’s positive. I think in the second half we need to be better in game management because we can definitely keep the ball a little bit longer.

“I think this is what we’ve been struggling a little bit with and that we’re a little too stressed to go forward.

“So that was the second half, but in general the feeling is that we are okay and we should be happy for winning the game also, it’s good.”

Jeglertz made four changes from the team who beat Manchester United 3-0 for the clash with Nottingham Forest.

This saw midfield duo Sydney Lohmann and Clinton make their first starts since returning from respective injuries, meanwhile Eartha Cumings and Laura Coombs also came into the side.

And City’s head coach believes healthy competition for places will allow the Blues to remain consistent throughout the season as we fight on three fronts.

He added: “It’s very important for us to be able to have more players getting more opportunities to play and we have a great squad and there are many competitions in many positions.

“The ones coming in today are definitely not letting anybody down so it’s a fantastic challenge for me to pick the best teams coming up.

“But it’s also making the sessions and training really challenging because everything is competitive. So that’s important.”
