Confirmed Man United XI vs AFC Bournemouth: Amorim makes one change
Ruben Amorim has made one change to his Manchester United side for tonight’s Premier League tie against Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
There has been much speculation leading up to the game about whether Noussair Mazraoui, Amad and Bryan Mbeumo would be available, given their call-ups to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) were due to take place today.
In the end, only Mazraoui is absent, with the Cameroonian and the Ivorian being granted an extra day in Manchester.
Senne Lammens is in goal.
Leny Yoro returns to the back three in place of Mazraoui and joins Ayden Heaven and Luke Shaw.
Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire are still injured.
Amad will be right wing-back and Diogo Dalot left wing-back.
The midfield is unchanged, with Bruno Fernandes partnering Casemiro.
The attack also remains the same, with Mbeumo on the right, Matheus Cunha up top and Mason Mount on the left.
The bench comprises Altay Bayindir, Patrick Dorgu, Tyler Fredricson, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee and Ben Sesko.
It’s a welcome return for the Slovenian Sesko after a five-week absence due to injury. Having been on the bench for the last three games, Shea Lacey is not in the squad. He did not play a minute during those bench appearances.
There had been rumours that Amorim was drilling the team to play with four at the back but it looks like a 3-4-3 formation today, unless Dalot were to play right back and Shaw left back.
Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 8pm.
