Tyrique George could be heading to Selhurst Park this winter amid news Crystal Palace could offer him a route out of Chelsea . The teenager came within inches of leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer before a deadline day proposal collapsed .
George, 19, was on the verge of joining Fulham in a reported £22million deal before the plug was pulled at the 11th hour. He remained part of Enzo Maresca's setup but has found minutes difficult to come by.
The Daily Mail reported the teenager is due for talks with the Chelsea hierarchy to discuss his prospects ahead of the winter transfer window. And it's understood Palace are one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services should he become available.
Oliver Glasner's side sit ninth in the Premier League but have become reliant on Jean-Philippe Mateta for goals. Yeremy Pino was brought in over the summer to help supplement the attack following Eberechi Eze's move to Arsenal , but the Eagles still look a little lightweight up top.
George, meanwhile, has been settling for a bit-part role in west London and is supposedly yearning for more. The youngster will have envisioned a grander impact when his move to Fulham fell through, but he has been largely restricted to cameo performances.
Nonetheless, George has as many goals as he does starts across all competitions so far this season. The wonderkid has netted three times in eight outings altogether, scoring twice in the EFL Cup and once in the Champions League .
However, his only Premier League minutes have come off the bench, making four substitute appearances totalling just 143 minutes. Maresca has spoken highly of the player in the past, though Chelsea may see logic in selling a rising asset not currently in their first-string plans.
"Very good. Very good. Brave," he said of his youngster's performance in a 1-0 win over Manchester United back in May. "He was a threat in behind. Not easy for him because on the other side you have [Harry] Maguire, you have [Victor] Lindelof, you have [Luke] Shaw.
"He was fighting against important defenders. But again, we tried to find a solution with a player from the academy. Overall I think also he had the penalty moment, so he works quite good."

Blues academy graduate George has less than two years to run on his Chelsea contract, which expires in 2027. However, Chelsea do have an option to extend that stay by a further 12 months.
The competition at Selhurst Park would certainly be a lot less intimidating than the legions of rivals in west London. Maresca's current wing options include Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Estevao and Joao Pedro.
Part of George's appeal is his ability to play on either wing or more centrally, increasing his appeal from a Palace perspective. And Glasner's squad could be the perfect landing spot for an extremely promising attacker looking to increase his involvement over the second half of the season.
