Blues returned to winning ways on Saturday with a win over Everton
Enzo Maresca has described the build-up to Chelsea’s win over Everton as “the worst 48 hours since I joined the club”.
The Blues returned to winning ways on Saturday with a well-earned 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, in wihch Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto scored in the first half.
It ended a four-game winless run for the Blues, which had seen their flirtation with a Premier League title challenge falter, while also lose ground in the Champions League following a a defeat in Atalanta.
Speaking after the game, when asked about Gusto’s performance, Maresca vented about a frustrating few days.
“With so many problems, the players are doing very well after a complicated week,” he told reporters.
“Since I joined the club, the last 48 hours have been the worst since I joined the club because many people didn't support us.
“Worst 48 hours since I joined the club because people didn't support me or the team in general. I love the fans and we are very happy with the fans.”
