Enzo Maresca has called on his Chelsea bosses to decide whether he remains at the club. The Italian recently put his future with the Blues in major doubt over the past week.

He launched into a bizarre rant last weekend, claiming he had a lack of support at Stamford Bridge . Maresca was then linked with a sensational move to Premier League rivals Manchester City , with reports suggesting that he was being eyed as a replacement should Pep Guardiola leave.

Maresca has a contract with Chelsea until 2029, with the Blues having the option for a further campaign. And asked if he would sign a new deal, he suggested that decision lies with the club’s owners.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with Newcastle , he said: “If the club offered me a new contract? This is a question for the club if I deserve a new contract.”

Maresca’s message to the club’s owners came at the same time he addressed reports of a switch to Manchester City - something he labelled as speculation. He added: “No, it doesn't affect me at all because I know that is 100 per cent speculation.

“And in this moment, there is no time for these kind of things. First of all, because I have a contract here until 2029 probably. And my focus, I said many times, is just about this club and I'm very proud to be here. But again, it's speculation. One week ago I was in Italy, the same with Juventus . So I don't pay attention because I know that is not true.”

Asked if he would be at Chelsea next season, he replied: “Absolutely, yes. Again, I have a contract until 2029, and this is speculation 100 per cent.

“So I don't have nothing to add, because again, I don't pay attention. And if we continue to talk about that, that means that I'm paying attention to that. But I'm not focused on that.

“I'm just focused on the Newcastle game. I'm focused on my job. Again, I signed a contract last year until 2029. I'm happy with that, and no more than that.”

Maresca joined Chelsea from Championship side Leicester in 2024 having led the Foxes to promotion to the Premier League. He won the Conference League and the Club World Cup during his debut campaign in West London.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
