Everton first side to beat United at Old Trafford after a red card
It was a night full of strange milestones and unwanted records for Manchester United , as 10-man Everton pulled off a remarkable 1-0 win at Old Trafford - their first victory since 2013.
Everton’s evening seemed doomed when Idrissa gana Idrissa Gana Gueye was shown a straight red card after just 13 minutes for striking teammate Michael Keane in a bizarre altercation.
It was Gueye’s first straight dismissal in 241 Premier League appearances, with his only previous sending-off coming via a second yellow against Arsenal back in 2017 . Despite the chaos, the visitors regrouped impressively.
Just 16 minutes later, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall curled a superb effort into the top corner to stun the home crowd. His goal carried its own slice of history - since the turn of the century, he is only the fourth player to score at Old Trafford in the Premier League while his side is down to 10 men.

For United, the statistics painted an even bleaker picture. Before last night, they had never lost a Premier League home game in which the opposition received a red card, winning 36 and drawing 10 of the previous 46 such matches, but the Toffees became the first team to overturn those odds.
The victory also marked a personal milestone for David Moyes, who finally earned his first Premier League win at Old Trafford as a visiting manager. It took him 18 attempts (D4, L13), but the former United boss finally cracked it.
United pressed after the break, but a lack of creativity and some fine saves from Jordan Pickford kept them at bay. Everton’s organisation saw them through, ending United’s five-match unbeaten run at home and lifting the Toffees above Liverpool into 11th, level on points with United.
