FA Cup second round draw live as non-league heroes discover opponents after shock upsets

The FA Cup second round draw is set to take place! Aside from Tamworth vs Leyton Orient, which will get under way later tonight, all of the matches of the first round were played last week.

As is often the case with the FA Cup, there were a large number of shocks. National League South side Chelmsford City destroyed local rivals and National League team Braintree Town 4-1 in an all-Essex derby. National League Gateshead also overcame AFC Wimbledon of League One 2-0 at Plough Lane, in what was one of the biggest shocks of the weekend.

There was no FA Cup miracle for Maldon and Tiptree of the Isthmian League North. They took the lead against League One team Port Vale, but three goals in a devastating four minute spell helped the Stoke-on-Trent side secure a 5-1 victory. After a fascinating weekend of football, all focus will turn to the FA Cup draw this evening.
