Fractured eye socket could keep Phallon Tullis-Joyce out for weeks

Manchester United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce could be out for the next few weeks after suffering a fractured eye socket.

According to journalist Charlotte Harpur of The Athletic , the American picked up the injury during the Red Devils' 1-0 loss at home to Aston Villa last over a week ago and has since missed the Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain and Saturday's derby day defeat to Manchester City with Safia Middleton-Patel playing in both of those games.

Marc Skinner is likely to be without one of their key players for a longer period ahead of a busy schedule that includes WSL and Champions League fixtures.

Tullis-Joyce has ably replaced Mary Earps since the former England international's departure and was nominated for FIFA's The Best women's goalkeeper award.

United are looking to ensure their place in the knock-out phase of the Champions League with a tough series of fixtures against Wolfsburg, OL Lyonnes, and Juventus while they're hoping to get back to winning ways domestically at home to West Ham United at the weekend.
