Fulham vs Leeds United preview, team news and predicted lineup

Still searching for their first Premier League victory of the new season, Fulham welcome newly-promoted Leeds United to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. This marks the first meeting between the sides since April 2023, when the Cottagers claimed a 2-1 home win in the top flight.

Fulham entered the international break feeling frustrated after a 2-0 defeat to West London rivals Chelsea in a Premier League clash overshadowed by VAR controversy at Stamford Bridge. Teenage prospect Joshua King thought he had scored his first senior goal, only for it to be ruled out by VAR after Rodrigo Muniz was penalized for a “careless challenge” in the build-up. Later, Ryan Sessegnon was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, allowing Enzo Fernandez to double Chelsea’s lead following Joao Pedro’s opening header.

Leeds, meanwhile, kicked off their return to the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 win over Everton in front of a lively Elland Road crowd. However, last season’s Championship title winners have failed to win any of their last three matches in all competitions. A heavy 5-0 defeat at Arsenal was followed by a disappointing penalty shootout exit against Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup second round. Most recently, the Whites managed just one shot on target in a goalless draw at home to Newcastle before the international break.

Fulham’s only injury concern is defender Issa Diop, who is dealing with an unspecified knock and will be assessed ahead of kickoff. Antonee Robinson is expected to be fit and could make his first league start of the season at left-back, potentially replacing Timothy Castagne.

Deadline day saw the arrivals of attackers Kevin, Samuel Chukwueze, and Jonah Kusi-Asare—the former joining for a club-record fee—and all three are in contention for a place in the matchday squad. However, it remains to be seen whether manager Marco Silva will include any of them in his starting lineup.

For Leeds, goalkeeper Lucas Perri has been ruled out of the next two matches after sustaining a thigh injury in the draw with Newcastle, with Karl Darlow expected to step in. Manager Daniel Farke has confirmed that Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka have both returned to training following knee injuries, and a late decision will be made regarding their availability for Saturday. Forwards Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe will also be assessed as they are nursing minor knocks. As a result, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be handed his first league start up front for the Whites, with Daniel James and Willy Gnonto expected to feature on the wings.

Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Sessegnon, King, Iwobi; Jimenez

Leeds United: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Stach, Gruev, Longstaff; James, Calvert-Lewin, Gnonto
