Horror moment Paul Doyle mowed down Liverpool fans then smashed into ambulance
This is the horrific moment Paul Doyle drove his two tonne car into the masses of Liverpool fans - before smashing into an ambulance.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows Doyle speeding down Water Street in the city centre, ploughing through a sea of people, scattering them in all directions. He flies down the road to the left of an ambulance - forcing people to jump for their lives. Many were trapped between the two vehicles as Doyle sped past.

Shocked supporters are seen surrounding his Ford Galaxy, banging on his roof and windscreen, desperately trying to get him to stop. But instead Doyle slams the car in reverse and the vehicle then lurches backwards into the ambulance. People in the crowd can be seen diving out of the way as the motor collides with the other vehicle.
At one point the driver’s door can be seen getting pulled open as brave fans try to stop the carnage. A number of police officers in yellow jackets are also shown in the footage, heading towards Doyle’s car in a bid to stop him.
When Doyle’s car was eventually stopped four people were trapped underneath. In total 134 people were injured in the incident on May 26. More than 750,000 people had headed into Liverpool city centre to celebrate the team’s Premier League victory.
Today Doyle was jailed for 21 years and six months for the horrific crime, which his own dashcam recorded. He admitted 31 offences against 21 adults and eight children following his crazed driving at the parade. These included 17 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and nine of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

James Allison, senior crown prosecutor for Merseyside, said Doyle’s actions had caused “carnage, fear and injury”. He said: “He used his car as a weapon to drive into people out celebrating. In seven minutes he drove down Dale Street and Water Street he caused lasting trauma to those taking part in the celebration. It affected the whole city.
“He was driving into the city centre aggressively and once he got to Dale Street and started to meet the crowds, things got worse. In a 70 second period he moved through the crown, men women, children and the elderly.
“He was determined to get through. He wasn’t going to stop unless he was stopped. This was not an accident, there was no impairment through drink or drugs.
“This was him losing his temper and going into a rage. He drove into the crowd because he lost his temper.”
Mr Allison added: “It’s lucky that we didn’t have any fatalities. We did have multiple serious fractures, arms and ankles, plus psychological injuries. A lot of children were injured. These are things that can affect you for a long time.”
Another CCTV video released by police shows Doyle forcing his car through the crowds on Dale Street - minutes before he caused chaos on Water Street.
A line of traffic stands stationary in the left lane as thousands of people file by. But in the right hand lane, hot-headed Doyle is seen pressing ahead, regardless of who was in his way.
He then appears to accelerate making people jump out of his way to avoid being hit. One fan can be seen swinging a boot at Doyle’s car in frustration as he drives through the crowds and heads off down towards Water Street.
