Kobbie Mainoo: Man United have clear transfer plan as Everton weigh up loan move for star

Manchester United’s transfer stance has been revealed as Everton consider making a January loan move for Kobbie Mainoo , a new report has claimed.

Kobbie Mainoo has found himself on the fringes this season, seemingly out of favour with United head coach Ruben Amorim.

Mainoo has yet to start a Premier League game this season, only managing 212 top-flight minutes. His only start of the campaign came in the humiliating EFL Cup defeat to League Two outfit Grimsby Town.

He asked to leave United during the final stretch of the summer transfer window but the club declined his request. He is believed to still be open to a January loan exit as he eyes a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Amorim has often responded with irritation to questions about Mainoo’s future, offering little hope that the young midfielder’s situation will improve in the near term.

Mainoo continues to be linked with a host of teams including Napoli, Juventus, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that there are as many as 12 clubs vying for the 20-year-old’s signature.

Now, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Everton are another interested party in Mainoo as January looms.

However, United have no interest in letting the academy graduate join a league rival.

Jacobs wrote in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, “West Ham and Everton are both open to a loan deal for the 20-year-old under the right circumstances.”

“But sources suggest United would ideally prefer to do a deal with a foreign club if a temporary exit is sanctioned.”

Everton’s pursuit of Mainoo could gain urgency with Idrissa Gueye set to be unavailable during the Africa Cup of Nations while on duty with Senegal.

United return to action on Sunday when they go away to Aston Villa.
