Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is still searching for his first competitive win over Leeds United as he takes his team to Elland Road for a Premier League clash on Wednesday night. The Blues earned a respectable 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday, while Leeds narrowly lost 3-2 to Manchester City at the Etihad.

The Chelsea-Arsenal encounter was intense from the start, with three early yellow cards for the Gunners and a red card for Moises Caicedo. Despite being a man down, Chelsea took the lead through Trevoh Chalobah’s header before Mikel Merino equalized for Arsenal. Given the circumstances, Chelsea will see the draw as a point gained, even though they have now slipped behind Manchester City in the league standings.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions and have been in strong form away from home, winning five and drawing one of their last six on the road. This run includes three consecutive Premier League victories at Tottenham, Burnley, and Nottingham Forest, and they have scored in every one of their ten away games this season.

Leeds, meanwhile, have struggled defensively, conceding multiple goals in each of their last four Premier League matches—all of which ended in defeat. Despite showing resilience to come back from 2-0 down against Manchester City, they ultimately fell short due to Phil Foden’s late winner. Manager Daniel Farke expressed frustration at City’s gamesmanship, but Leeds can take positives from their spirited second-half performance.

However, Leeds remain in the relegation zone, trailing West Ham only on goals scored. Their home record this season—two wins, two draws, and two losses—is solid, and they will be hoping to repeat their memorable 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Elland Road in 2022.
