Liverpool are already working on a deal which would see Antoine Semenyo join them for big money in the January transfer window . The Reds have already had 'concrete talks' over a transfer in the winter window amid their Premier League struggles.

Arne Slot's side splashed more than £450million to sign figures such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz in the summer, but have lost six of their last seven matches in the top-flight. And it appears that more spending will be on the agenda in January as they seek to turn their season around.

Bournemouth star Semenyo is under contract until 2030 but has a release clause worth up to £65m that becomes active in January, following the agreement of a new deal at the end of last season. And Liverpool are eyeing it up, according to Sky.

The Merseyside club are set to face competition from Manchester United , while Manchester City are watching how the situation unfolds . The Ghana international is known to have met with United boss Ruben Amorim before re-signing with the Cherries.

Semenyo has already bagged six goals and recorded three assists in 11 outings this season, but missed Bournemouth's draw with West Ham . The attacker's form will be appealing to a Liverpool side in 12th with just two goals in their last three matches.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola does not want to talk about the prospect of Semenyo's exit just yet , though. "We are in November," he said last week.

"Antoine is our player, he will continue being our player. In January, you can ask me about the market in January, but right now I'm not worried about the next markets.

"It's something that especially you know that I hate to talk about in August, January, the moments when the market is open, but it is not one of those moments. It's November. I'm more worried about the situation of the players to play tomorrow, the short-term, the things that really matter and in January, we will talk about whatever happens, the players we need. But it is not something that I'm worried about today."

It has been suggested that Bournemouth could be more vulnerable to a deal for Semenyo in January, following the adjustment of profit and sustainability rules to the Squad Cost Ratio . Clubs will be allowed to spend 85 per cent of football revenue and net profit/loss on players, with a multi-year allowance of 30 per cent to foster greater 'ambition'.

Bournemouth, Brighton , Palace and Brentford, alongside Fulham and Leeds United are said to have voted against that shift.

Semenyo claimed recently that he's attempting to keep the noise surrounding his future to a minimum. He said: "I don't think about it too much.

"I try to stay present as much as I can. You see the news all the time, I see it as well, I'm not oblivious, but I try to keep focused."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
