Arne Slot has revealed when Mohamed Salah will return to Liverpool after the Africa Cup of Nations .
The forward is set to fly back to Merseyside following Egypt ’s semi-final defeat by Senegal , where Salah’s former team-mate Sadio Mane notched the winner in Tangier.
Salah departed for the tournament with his future at Anfield up in the air after his explosive comments following the Reds’ draw at Leeds.
The 33-year-old had said that he felt that the club had “thrown me under the bus”, adding that he and Slot had “no relationship”.
The winger played just once more for Liverpool before jetting off to Morocco on international duty, coming on as a first-half substitute against Brighton.
Salah scored four goals and assisted once in four appearances for his country on their run to the semi-finals, and the Pharaohs will face Nigeria in the third-place play-off on Saturday.
He is then due back at Melwood, but won’t be involved in Liverpool’s upcoming game against Burnley this weekend.
FIFA rules state that players must remain with their national teams until the morning after their final game.

As such, Salah could be in line for a club return against Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“Next week,” Slot replied when asked when Salah would be back.
“He needs to play another big game for Egypt , and then he comes back to us.
“I’m happy that he’s coming back, because even if I had 15 attackers, I still would have been happy to have him back.”
“We are in talks with him over there, what is expected of him over here. He has an important game on Saturday, and next week he will be back.”
Asked if Salah could feature at Marseille in midweek, Slot replied: “That is something we are talking about together.”
On the injury front, it is as you were for the champions, who remain without long-term absentees Alexander Isak, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni.
