Liverpool cult hero has contract TERMINATED by his club after not playing for them for TWO YEARS

Former Liverpool star Divock Origi has become a free agent after having his contracted ripped up by AC Milan .

Origi, 30, has not played for the Italian giants since the 2022-23 season and will now be on the lookout for a new club.

The Belgian is a cult hero at Anfield having scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the 2019 Champions League final. He also netted twice, including the winner, in the famous semi-final comeback against Barcelona the same year.

Origi's last appearance came for Nottingham Forest in May 2024, who he joined on loan from AC Milan for the 2023-24 campaign.

The Premier League winner scored 41 goals in 175 appearances across seven seasons at Liverpool.

He moved to San Siro after leaving Anfield following the expiry of his contract in June 2022. Origi went on to make 36 matches for AC Milan, scoring twice.

Origi, capped 32 times by Belgium, then found the net just once in 22 games in his disappointing loan spell at Forest.

As well as his goals in the Champions League, Origi is also famous for his last-minute winner against Everton in the Merseyside derby in 2018.

He moved to Liverpool as a 19-year-old in a £10million deal from Lille in June 2014.
