Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a deal for AFC Bournemouth's star Antoine Semenyo as the January transfer window rapidly approaches. The Reds have been linked with the Ghana international for several weeks now, and speculation is mounting as the New Year closes in.

Arne Slot's team are currently experiencing a rough patch, having suffered six losses in their last seven Premier League games. This poor run of form has seen Liverpool slide down to 12th place in the table - sparking rumours that they may be looking to bolster their squad with new signings.

Various sources suggest Liverpool are keen on bringing Semenyo to Anfield this January. The forward reportedly has a release clause of around £65million in his contract with Bournemouth - and Manchester United are also said to be interested.

Should Liverpool go on to secure Semenyo's signature, then there are plenty of suitable squad numbers available for the in-demand forward. Semenyo currently wears the No.24 shirt with Bournemouth, which is also available at Liverpool ahead of the January window.

Liverpool also have several other numbers up for grabs should they decide to sign the 25-year-old.

The Reds' No.19 shirt is available. That's having been left vacant by Harvey Elliott in the summer when he moved to Aston Villa on loan with an obligation to buy.

Semenyo previously wore squad numbers 11 and 18 while playing for Bristol City earlier in his career. Both shirts are currently occupied by Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo at Anfield.

The Reds also have numbers 21, 23, 24, 27 and 29 available should Semenyo make the switch this January, although it remains uncertain whether Liverpool's interest is concrete or if a deal will materialise in the New Year.

"We're in November, Antoine is our player, he will continue to be our player," Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said last week. In January, you can ask me about the market.

"But right now, I'm not worried about the next market. I'm not worried about the situation.

"In January, we will talk about whatever happened, the players we need."

Semenyo has scored six goals so far this season for Bournemouth, including two against Liverpool on the opening day of the 2025/2026 Premier League season back in August.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
