He's already secured the services of coveted attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and is contemplating an audacious £120million bid for Newcastle 's Alexander Isak .

But the Dutchman seemingly isn't stopping there, with reports in Spain claiming he's set to raid Real Madrid for Rodrygo .

AS claim the Reds will "push firmly" to try to acquire the Brazilian's signature if Luis Diaz leaves Anfield.

They also claim the Merseysiders will send a delegation to Madrid in the "coming days" to try to finalise the deal.

Liverpool 's reported pursuit of Rodrygo is bad news for their Prem rivals Arsenal.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on bringing the Brazil international to the Emirates as back-up for star winger Bukayo Saka .

Liverpool have been interested in Rodrygo for the best part of a decade.

The Kop club almost signed the winger when he was plying his trade with Santos in 2017.

He revealed: "We didn’t close the deal because I didn’t want to.

"I wanted to stay at Santos even though the offer was very good.

"The pathway they promised me would also have been very good for my career.

"I was going to finish my studies in England to prepare for European football . It had always been my dream to play in Europe .

“Everything was very good, but my desire spoke louder. I wanted to stay at Santos and make a bit of history at the club.

"And that’s what happened - I was able to fulfil my dream of playing for Santos.

"But it’s true, I almost went to Liverpool.”
