Liverpool set to lose star attacker, aged 15, to Leeds - with their Premier League rivals avoiding having to pay compensation for Irish international

Liverpool attacking prospect Kai Morrall is leaving the club to join Leeds United.

The 15-year-old winger has come to a mutual agreement with Liverpool to depart so Leeds will not be required to pay any compensation.

The Republic of Ireland youth international, who joined Liverpool's academy at Under 9s level, believes he will have a greater chance of a pathway to first team football by moving to Elland Road.

Liverpool are well stocked in the attacking positions Morrall can play and the chance to join Leeds was viewed as a good opportunity on all sides.

Morrall has left on amicable terms and posted his gratitude to Liverpool coaching staff on social media.

'After eight years at Liverpool it is time for me to say goodbye,' he said.

'I would like to thank all the staff and the coaches that helped me develop into a better player and a person.

'I will miss the memories and friends I made along the way; however, I am looking forward to starting a new chapter and hopefully more things to come.'

Morrall has been lined up to join the Prolific Sports Group Agency who represent the likes of Liverpool wing-back Jeremie Frimpong.
