Time is running out for Liverpool to strengthen their squad as we hurtle towards transfer deadline day. The Premier League champions have endured a quiet month in the market, though that was hardly surprising after their £400million spending spree last summer.

However, with a sizeable gap to league leaders Arsenal and their title defence showing signs of strain, making one or two smart additions before the window closes on February 2 would not go amiss.

Whether that involves fast-tracking summer transfer plans or pouncing on an unexpected opportunity, Liverpool are expected to test the market in the final days of the window - but whether any deals can be pushed over the line remains to be seen. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool-related transfer news.

Liverpool are weighing up a £56million move for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck. The Germany international has established himself as one of the Bundesliga's standout defenders and has been on the Reds' radar for some time.

After missing out on Marc Guehi to Manchester City , Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of a new central defender, particularly with Ibrahima Konate expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season. While the original plan was to wait until the summer, ongoing defensive frailties could yet persuade the club to act before the January window closes.

Schlotterbeck's Dortmund contract runs until the end of next season, potentially opening the door to a cut-price deal in the summer should he fail to agree an extension. Talks between the player and the club are continuing, but no breakthrough has yet been reached - a situation Liverpool are monitoring closely as they assess their next move.

Andy Robertson is edging closer to a move to Tottenham after falling out of favour at Liverpool. The Scotland international has slipped down the pecking order under Arne Slot following the summer arrival of Milos Kerkez and has started just four Premier League matches this season.

Spurs are now pushing to bring the 31-year-old to north London, with a deal worth around £5m believed to be on the table. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Robertson is "keen on the move" and "ready for a fresh challenge" after eight-and-a-half trophy-laden years at Anfield.

"The negotiation is advancing very fast, very well - so the deal could be done soon for Andy Robertson to become a new Tottenham player from Liverpool," Romano said.

With Robertson out of contract in the summer, a departure at the end of the season had long been expected, but a January exit would allow Liverpool to recoup a fee. However, it would leave Slot short of options at left-back, potentially forcing the club to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma before sanctioning the move.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
