Manchester City returned to winning ways with a crucial victory over Wolves at home in the Premier League . City secured a 2-0 triumph at the Etihad Stadium to narrow the gap to leaders Arsenal ahead of their clash with Manchester United later this weekend.

Omar Marmoush broke the deadlock for City in his first start for the club following his return from the African Cup of Nations with Egypt. Antoine Semenyo made it 2-0 with his first Premier League goal for the club since his transfer from Bournemouth earlier this month, his third in a City shirt after netting in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup shortly after his arrival.

Marc Guehi made his City debut in the victory over Wolves, having completed his move from Crystal Palace earlier this week, reports the Manchester Evening News .

City now sit four points adrift of Arsenal in the Premier League standings, and will turn their attention to a crucial Champions League fixture in midweek against Galatasaray.

Aston Villa may also believe they are still in the title race, with Unai Emery's side seven points adrift of Arsenal in third place and will face Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon (2pm).
