Man United given hope of signing 23-year-old in swap deal for Marcus Rashford

Man United are hoping to finalise the permanent departure of Marcus Rashford next summer, with Barcelona favourites to turn him loan into a transfer. However, PSG are also interested in the 28-year-old , which will be music to the ears of Old Trafford officials.

Barcelona have an option to buy Rashford as part of their loan agreement with Man United , but it is far from certain that they decide to pay it – not only because of their financial problems, but other targets could be sought instead.

This would give an opening to PSG , who may be open to negotiating a swap deal with Man United .

According to Keith Wyness (via Football Insider ), PSG could allow Bradley Barcola to move to Old Trafford as part of an agreement with Man United for Rashford.

“Well, the interesting news and development on that story is that PSG are claiming to be coming in here, and there could be some sort of player swap deal with Bradley Barcola , which makes sense, I think, for United.

“He’s obviously a lot younger, was he? About 23, I think. And if they were to get Rashford and a player swap, that would, I think, suit United more than releasing him at the pretty low level, I think, that Barcelona had got, which is going to be about 30 million from memory.

“Now, the player’s point of view, I think Rashford would much prefer to stay at Barca . I think he’s happy, but PSG is not exactly the worst option. And I think he could be spoilt for choice there. And I think there could be a bidding war in terms of least wages being offered to Rashford.”

Man United may have signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko last summer, but there is scope for further attackers to be brought in. Barcola would be an excellent addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad, but whether a deal can be agreed with PSG remains to be seen.
