Man United U21 boss Travis Binnion gives verdict on how youngsters are performing on loan

Manchester United Under-21 boss Travis Binnion has shared his thoughts on how the youngsters who are currently out on loan are faring.

While a good number of United players who are on loan are doing well, there are a few who are not having the best time away from Carrington.

Radek Vitek and Harry Amass are enjoying themselves at Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively, with both emerging as key members of their squads.

Toby Collyer endured a slow start to life at West Bromwich Albion but it looked like the tide had turned before he sustained an injury that has slightly hindered his progress.

Ethan Ennis, Dan Gore, Habeeb Ogunneye, Ethan Wheatley, Ethan Williams and Jack Moorhouse are all gradually progressing at Fleetwood Town, Rotherham United, Newport County, Northampton Town, Falkirk and  Leyton Orient respectively.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person outlined why goalkeeper Elyh Harrison has struggled for playing time at Shrewsbury Town.

Joe Hugill has been sidelined for three months with an injury but is close to returning to action with Barnet.

Binnion spoke to the media and gave his assessment of how the various loan spells are going. He also revealed that plans are underway for more players to leave United and head out on loan.

He said [as quoted by BBC ], “Conversations are taking place.”

“It’s been a really successful first half of the season and it’s never going to be perfect with everyone playing every game, but we’re all really happy with how the loans have done.”

“We’ve got to reassess what’s right for them in January and also, for the lads that are in the building, how do we get the next stage of their development right?”

United Under-21s are next in action on Tuesday next week when they face Solihull Moors. They will then take on Anderlecht, Tamworth and Borussia Dortmund before breaking for the holidays.
