Manchester United may be homing in a potential solution to one positional conundrum that's been plaguing the squad for some time now. That's after the player in question admitted it would be a "dream" to join the Red Devils one day.

Ruben Amorim is coming off the back of a transfer window that has had a very positive impact at United. So much so that Sir Alex Ferguson has come out voicing his approval for one signing in particular.

It's still uncertain as to just how busy United will be when the January transfer window opens for business. However, recent signs are positive heading deeper into the winter as Mirror Football dissects the latest headlines around Old Trafford.

Crystal Palace full-back Daniel Munoz has put his hand up as a potential future signing for Amorim after saying it would be a "dream come true" to play for United. The Colombian is enjoying a superb sophomore season at Selhurst Park but recently included the Red Devils among his list of ideal transfer destinations.

"First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another," he told AS . "If you ask me, it would be a dream come true to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona , PSG , Real Madrid , or Manchester United ."

There can be no more certain a gesture that a player would be receptive to a transfer inquiry. And given United's issues filling the right wing-back slot as Amorim's system demands, Munoz could be an ideal addition.

Amad Diallo is currently occupying the role, while Noussair Mazraoui and Digo Dalot have offered support there when fit. Even prior to Amorim's arrival, there was debate as to whether the right side of the defence had the talent required.

Though on the older side of United's usual transfer policy, that would in theory reduce the fee Palace might expect for Munoz. And after excelling under Oliver Glasner , the former Genk talisman could be an understated answer to one of the Red Devils' long-term dilemmas.

"I think I’m working towards that," added Munoz before hinting he'd be open to a mid-season switch. "I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because it’s a dream of mine to get there.

"Right now I’m focused on my club, on doing things well at Crystal Palace. If you ask me, I don’t have any concrete information that any of these clubs are interested in me.

"My focus is on Crystal Palace; we’ll see when the winter transfer window gets closer. Right now, I’m fully focused on these two matches with the national team."

Amid the swell of fresh faces that arrived at Old Trafford over the summer, the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha stick out as some of the more impressive. The pair formed part of a £200million attacking makeover alongside Benjamin Sesko, and fans have been largely impressed by their impact to date.

However, Ferguson's attention was more focused on the opposite end of the field after addressing the new arrival that has left the biggest mark. And the United great has been thrilled by the upgrade effect Senne Lammens has had between the posts.

"There are signs, the manager has had some good signs," he told Raceday RTV. "Particularly the goalkeeper has been outstanding, he’s only played three or four games and he’s looking really good.

"Of course, Mbeumo and Cunha, the new players from Wolves and Brentford, they’ve added to it. I hope the manager gets a bit of success because at United you need to have success - the signs are getting better.

"I think back-to-back wins is something teams like United should always expect. But having gone through a cycle where the improvement has to come by waiting and being patient, they’ll enjoy it now."
