Manchester United's Patrick Dorgu has stirred the pot by liking a social media post criticising Ruben Amorim's midfield selection of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes . The Red Devils have had a rocky start to the season, currently sitting 10th in the Premier League with just five victories from their first 12 matches.

Despite impressive wins such as their triumph over Liverpool at Anfield, their recent defeat to Everton at Old Trafford has dampened spirits. A key feature of United's strategy this season has been the midfield duo of skipper Fernandes and Casemiro.

Both players were on the pitch for the disappointing 1-0 loss to the Toffees on Monday night, until Casemiro was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo just shy of the 60-minute mark after picking up a booking.

However, it seems not everyone in the dressing room is on board with the manager's current player use. Dorgu gave his approval to an Instagram post arguing that Fernandes and Casemiro should not be playing together.

The post, shared by "mufcunion", featured a screenshot from X which read: "Any coach that sees Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes as a viable pivot is one that isn't serious."

The caption of the Instagram post declared: "Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro CANNOT play together," and received a like from Dorgu, who joined United from Lecce for £25m earlier this year. The wing-back has made 12 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing one assist.

Fernandes and Casemiro have been a formidable duo for Manchester United this season, starting together in 10 out of the club's 13 matches across all competitions.

The only exceptions were during a heavily rotated squad against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round, and two league games against Brentford and Manchester City .

In those matches, Manuel Ugarte was chosen to partner Fernandes in place of Casemiro. However, the selection for the Brentford match was enforced due to Casemiro receiving a red card in the previous game against Chelsea .

Casemiro's future at Old Trafford is currently up in the air as his contract nears its end. Despite having a better season compared to the last, it remains unclear whether the 33-year-old Brazilian will extend his stay with United.

This has led to United being linked with several midfield reinforcements over the summer, including Brighton's Carlos Baleba, while Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson is the latest name to be thrown into the mix ahead of the January transfer window .

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
