Managing Rangers as exiled stars wave goodbye and £15m Premier League ace arrives

Rangers could be bolstered by a Premier League arrival this January as Danny Rohl's team aim to claw back a league title. Some of the squad's out-of-sorts stars might also be shown the door.
The Light Blues' performance has significantly improved under head coach Rohl since the German took over in October last year, with his high-pressing, possession-based football contrasting starkly with that of Russell Martin .
Rohl's side are just six points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, which is also the number of consecutive victories they've achieved in all competitions.
A trio of new signings were introduced at Ibrox before the 5-0 cup triumph against Annan, with Andreas Skov Olsen, Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens all set to enhance Rangers' depth. But Mirror Football examines a few more moves the club should consider this January.

Rohl's midfield has already been strengthened with the addition of Chukwuani, but a more seasoned player in the engine room could further boost their title chances. Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil has climbed the ranks at the Stadium of Light, but under Regis Le Bris in the Premier League , he has struggled for regular playing time.
At the tender age of 24, he has a promising future ahead and as captain, he played a pivotal role in Sunderland's promotion to the Championship. Over the summer, a £15million price tag was supposedly attached to the midfielder , but it's believed that Rangers could secure him for a bargain price given his contract is due to expire in June.

This is an opportunity Rangers should seize, as acquiring a player of Neil's quality doesn't happen every day, and they might land a great deal considering his limited game time at Sunderland. It's worth mentioning that this is primarily due to stiff competition rather than poor performances.
However, they may need to move quickly as Italian clubs and German outfit FC Koln have reportedly expressed interest in Neil and could swoop in come January.
Despite the arrival of Skov Olsen, who could evolve into one of Rangers' key forwards, the club should contemplate bolstering their wide options, especially if Oliver Antman is set to leave.
Damir Redzic is a name that's been thrown around, with the 22-year-old reportedly catching the eye of the Ibrox side following his impressive displays for Slovakian team Dunajska Streda.

The club is thought to be open to offers for their young talent, who could provide much-needed depth in a position recently dominated by Djeidi Gassama.
Antman might not be the only winger on his way out of the club this transfer window, suggesting Rangers should consider bringing in another young talent to bolster their wide options.
Rabbi Matondo hasn't quite hit his stride since returning from his loan spell at Hannover 96, and he's one of several players the club could look to offload this window.

Upon his arrival, Rohl took a deep dive into his squad and identified those he considered surplus to requirements. Alongside Matondo on the rumoured 'bomb squad' list are Danilo, Nedim Bajrami, Kieran Dowell and Clinton Nsiala.
All have found it difficult to secure significant playing time at Ibrox this season, including Joe Rothwell, who already appears set to leave the club this window.
