Former Manchester United star Nani has urged the club to make a move for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window.

Semenyo signed a new contract at the Vitality Stadium last summer despite interest from United and Tottenham but that deal included a release clause that becomes active next month.

The Ghana international can leave Bournemouth for £65million before 10 January – a date selected to ensure the Cherries have enough time to find a replacement. It will become active again in the summer.

United are still interested in Semenyo but he now also counts Liverpool and Manchester City among his admirers.

While Liverpool’s interest predates Mohamed Salah ’s recent bombshell interview that has rocked the club, doubts over the Egypt international’s future at Anfield could see Semenyo considered as a replacement.

City are also considering a January move as they look to keep pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

But former United star Nani is hoping to see Ruben Amorim’s enter the fray, insisting he is the ‘type of player the fans want to see’.

Nani told Metro on behalf of online casino experts, casino.co.uk : ‘Why not?

‘I think all the players who have the ability to move forward at speed, being able to dribble, able to shoot, to score goals, to assist and just have that general creativity in the moment would suit Manchester United.

‘That’s the type of the player the fans want to see. However, we know that when players come to Man United, this is totally different. It’s a different environment, different pressure, different mentality, different job and, and then they have to adapt.

‘I hope if we get Semenyo, he can come with his attitude, with this mentality and he can put all of his talent on the field and help the team.’

United’s interest in Semenyo dates back to the summer transfer window where the club eventually brought in two other attacking options in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Despite those additions, they still hold interest in Semenyo although it remains to be seen whether interest from rival clubs will prompt them into action in the coming weeks.
