Former Manchester United star Nani believes Paris Saint-Germain star Joao Neves would have a been a ‘great signing’ for his former side.

Neves was a key figure in the PSG team that ended its long wait for European glory last season, starring alongside Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz in midfield as the French champions won the Champions League .

PSG swooped to sign the Portugal international in the summer of 2024 in a £60million deal, seeing off interest from a number of other clubs.

United were among them. Their scouts watched on as he effortlessly replaced Enzo Fernandez in the Benfica midfield following his £106million move to Chelsea in January 2026 with the club making at least one bid for his services.

United captain Bruno Fernandes was also among his admirers, declaring his countryman ‘ready’ to take the next step in his career.

But United missed out with the long-term make-up for their midfield still uncertain.

Plenty of United fans have been left to rue missing out on Neves with former star Nani agreeing the club missed out on an ‘all round talent.’

‘For sure, he would have been a great signing,’ Nani told Metro on behalf of online casino experts, casino.co.uk .

‘He can run, he has amazing energy and all-round talent.

‘He can score goals and can do anything on the field. He is a very clever footballer, who I think would fit in any team.’

United are also among the clubs interested in signing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo who is available for a relatively modest £65million in January.

While there is no shortage of suitors with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City also interested, Nani believes the Cherries star is exactly ‘the type of player’ United fans want to see.

‘I think all the players who have the ability to move forward at speed, being able to dribble, able to shoot, to score goals, to assist and just have that general creativity in the moment would suit Manchester United.
