Paul Doyle's reckless driving caught on own dashcam before Liverpool crowd carnage
Paul Doyle’s reckless driving was captured on his own dashcam in heart-stopping footage - before he ploughed into the Liverpool crowd.
Dramatic video released by police shows Doyle driving his two tonne Ford Galaxy towards the city centre on May 26 as he went to pick up a friend. In the first clip he is seen heading down the East Lancs Road weaving across the road, undertaking other vehicles before accelerating and jumping a red light at least three seconds after it changed. Another video shows Doyle on Byrom Street - approaching the city centre. A number of fans who had been out celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League triumph can be seen on the side of the road.

Today Doyle was jailed for 21 years and six months for the horrific crime, which his own dashcam recorded. He admitted 31 offences against 21 adults and eight children following his crazed driving at the parade. These included 17 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and nine of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
On Doyle's dashcam, as traffic slows down at a crossing to allow supporters to cross the road Doyle is seen impatiently swerving into the left lane undercutting the other cars . A woman holding a child’s hand can be seen crossing in front of him - but he still presses on causing others to scurry to the pavement.
Police also released CCTV footage of Doyle arriving on Dale Street - as tens of thousands of jubilant fans are heading home following the celebrations. His car is seen heading down the road passing close to a couple pushing their baby in its pushchair.
More footage, taken further along Dale Street, shows Doyle behind the wheel as his vehicle is surrounded by fans leaving the parade. He keeps moving forward forcing men, women and children to move out of his way.
Moments after this footage was taken Doyle headed into Water Street - where the red mist descended and he ploughed into the crowds, injuring 134 people.

Prosecutors said “Doyle just lost his temper and, in a rage, drove into the crowd. When he did so, he intended to cause them serious harm. He was prepared to cause those in the crowd, even children, serious harm if necessary to achieve his aim of getting through.”
They said he “drove aggressively” on his way into the city centre as he undertook other cars and jumped the light. They said the footage did “demonstrate that the safety of others was far from the priority of Paul Doyle”.
