Premier League clubs will be keeping a close eye on Vinicius Jr’s future after the player made it clear to Real Madrid that he will not consider signing a contract extension as things stand.

The Brazilian winger has become a superstar at the Bernabeu following his arrival from Flamengo. But he could consider a move AWAY from the Bernabeu in the near future, with his relationship with new Real Madrid boss, Xabi Alonso , understood to be frosty.

Vinicius, 25, was left furious after being taken off against Barcelona in the Clasico last month. And while he made a public apology to his teammates and supporters in the immediate aftermath, it does not appear to have repaired his relationship with the Los Blancos chief.

According to The Athletic , Vinicius will not sign an extended contract with the club at this moment in time given his relationship with Alonso. The winger’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027, meaning Real could lose him for free in just 18 months.

It is suggested that Vinicius made his feelings known in a meeting with club president Fiorentino Perez last month following his outburst during the Clasico. During his angry reaction to his substitution, the Brazilian was heard saying: “Always me, I’m leaving the team, it’s better if I leave, I’m leaving.”

Vinicius penned a long apology on social media, albeit leaving Alonso out . Asked about that fact, the Real Madrid boss said: “Has Vinicius apologised to me? We had a meeting with everyone on Wednesday, and Vinicius was impeccable.

“He spoke honestly and was very good. For me, that settles the matter. It was a very valuable, very positive statement. He demonstrated his honesty; he spoke from the heart.

“What he said was the most important thing, and I was very satisfied. I've already said it, I was very proud and the matter was settled on Wednesday itself.”

Should Vinicius angle to leave the club, a clutch of Premier League clubs will no doubt sit up and notice. Liverpool have been linked with a move for the winger in the past, while Manchester United have also been credited with a historical interest.

Vinicius has so far scored 111 goals in 340 appearances for the Spanish side - five of those having come so far this season. Real Madrid are back in action on Wednesday as they take on Greek side Olympiacos on Wednesday ahead of a La Liga showdown with Girona.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
