PSG's Neves Banned for 2 Games After Shocking Hair-Pull Red

Portuguese midfielder João Neves is a significant absentee for Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup , where the Parisians will face Tottenham this Wednesday, after being suspended for two matches.

The 20-year-old was dismissed in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea , after pulling the hair of Spanish full-back Marc Cucurella near the London side's penalty area. The Premier League side eventually went on to defeat PSG 3-0 to lift the trophy.

João Neves will now miss the next two matches for coach Luis Enrique , according to French outlet RMC Sport , starting with the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham, followed by the first match of the Ligue 1 season against Nantes .

It is worth noting that this was the first red card of João Neves' career. The 20-year-old was pivotal in PSG's impressive 2024/25 campaign, finishing the season with 59 appearances, seven goals, and 10 assists.
