A striker, who failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League but has since thrived in La Liga, would ‘suit Manchester United perfectly’.
That is the opinion of Liverpool hero John Arne Riise amid rumours the forward is looking to leave his current club in the January transfer window.
United take on Bournemouth on Monday night knowing that a win would move them into the Premier League top five and level on points with Chelsea .
While progress has been made this season, Ruben Amorim ’s team are far from perfect, and still have a major issue in the No.9 position.
£74million summer arrival Benjamin Sesko has scored just twice in 12 appearances and has been sidelined for the past month with a knee injury.
The other centre-forward options, Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee, have just one goal apiece, with the latter potentially on the move to Roma next month.
There are hopes that Sesko, 22, will blossom into the elite striker United so desperately need, but in the meantime it has been suggested that a more experienced No.9 should be brought in.

Enter Alexander Sorloth, who could reportedly push to leave Atletico Madrid amid rumours he is unhappy with the amount of game time Diego Simeone is giving him.
While he has featured in all but two of Atletico’s 23 La Liga and Champions League matches this season, Sorloth has started just nine times and only completed 90 minutes twice.
And Riise thinks his fellow countryman would do well at Old Trafford should he wish to depart Madrid, telling footitalia.com : ‘I think Sorloth has done extremely well this year, as well as last year, and he’s done well for Norway too.

‘I’m quite sure that his style of play, his physique, the way he is in the box, his strength would suit Manchester United perfectly, to be fair.
‘So I do hope he gets a great club if he decides to leave in the winter or in the summer, because I think Sorloth is a great player and will be a good target for Manchester United.
‘He’s played in the Premier League before, with Crystal Palace , so he knows what it takes, and his game is suited to it. If it’s United or somewhere else, he should be looking at a Premier League return.’

Sorloth signed for Palace for £9m in January 2018 but his 12 months in England were a disaster, as he failed to score in 16 league appearances before Roy Hodgson pulled the plug.
He has since rebuilt his career in Spain, scoring 23 goals in 34 league games for Villarreal before moving to Atletico and bagging 20 in 35 last season.
The 30-year-old, under contract until 2028, also played a key role in Norway’s qualification for next summer’s World Cup, leading the line alongside Erling Haaland.
